Major fail for US Authorities

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Today, I was shocked to see footage of a Boeing 747 flying low over New York.  At first glimpse it looks as though the jumbo jet is being chased by a fighter plane.  The footage showed people shouting and running for safety, completely unaware as to what was happening.  Skyscrapers emptied, people were panicking trying to flee.  It appeared as if 9/11 was happening all over again…..

It actually turns out that it was Air Force One flying low for the purpose of a photo shoot…  Somewhere along the line there was a breakdown in communication and nobody was told it was happening!  Major Fail!!! It appears that even Mayor Bloomberg was unaware that the photo-op was going to happen, how can this happen?  The idea of the photo-op is a good one, Air Force One can be seen as a symbol of hope but not telling the people of New York is wholly unforgivable!

I can only imagine what was going through the hearts and minds of the people of New York as this scene unfolded itself, it seem incomprehensible to me that something so insensitive like this could happen.

Somebody owes the people of New York a HUGE APOLOGY!

Another 4-4 draw, another 10 years older…

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

OK, so I have just witnessed another amazing game of football, a second 4-4 draw again involving Liverpool in the space of a week!  Last week Liverpool drew with Chelsea 4-4 in the Champions League quarter final second leg and tonight Liverpool drew 4-4 against Arsenal in the Premier League.  Two absolutely amazing games to watch, except I am a Liverpool support…. Between the two games I think I have aged 20 years because of the roller-coaster emotions I experienced whilst watching them.

Liverpool needed to win to keep the pressure on Man Utd, who play tomorrow night.  Man Utd now have two games in hand and are second on goal difference as it stands now.  It’s going to take  a couple of miracles for Liverpool to win the title this year.  I won’t give up hope until it is mathematically impossible but Liverpool needed the three points tonight but took only one…

Tomorrow night I will be a Portsmouth fan!

Glenfield Nomads reach final of the Invitation Cup

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Last Sunday, Glenfield Nomads FC reached the final of the Initation Cup by beating Kilby Town FC 3-1 in a game that was closer than the scoreline would suggest.  Unfortunately, I was an unused substitute.

The final will be held at Holmes Park, the home of the Leicestershire Football Association, on Firday 8th May, kick off at 7.00 pm.
