When did Tattoos become mainstream?
Sunday, August 23rd, 2009When I was a teenager getting a tattoo or a piercing was solely the domain of alternative people, those wanting to be different from the mainstream. Tattoos and piercings were sported by metalheads, goths and the occasional indie kid.
However, now it seems that everyone has tattoos and piercings. You walk into a pub and 9 out of 10 people have tattoos visible.
Don’t get me wrong I am in no way against tattoos or piercings I just feel that it is now more of an alternative statement to not have any tattoos or piercings!
